Fiber Laser ROI Calculator.
No manufacturer publishes this math, so we did. Put in your own numbers: your outsourcing spend, your wages, your floor. Then see what a machine payment actually competes against.
Machine Payment vs. Labor and Outsourcing.
vs. $28.00/hr operator wage. The machine runs $3.63/hr cheaper and never calls in sick.
Your outside-processing spend more than covers the payment. That's a reallocation, not a cost.
Outsourcing spend minus machine payment, before any new work you win with in-house capacity.
Before Section 179: most US shops can write off the full purchase price in the delivery year. Confirm with your accountant.
What Is Your Staging Floor Worth Back?
Space that becomes a bending cell, a second laser, or room your operators actually need.
Before the throughput gains. See Vendrix™ for the changeover and lights-out math.
What This Math Is, and Isn't.
This calculator is directional, on purpose. It uses your inputs and simple arithmetic: no black-box assumptions, no inflated 'productivity multipliers.' It also leaves out the upside that's hardest to put a number on: the jobs you stop turning down, the four-week outsourcing lead times that become same-day cuts, and the quoting confidence that comes from owning your capacity.
When the directional math looks good, the next step is real numbers: an engineer sizes the machine to your operation and prices it. That call is the quote.
How to Read the Numbers.
Monthly machine payment divided by monthly production hours. The default payment reflects PB Lasers' published lease-to-own guidance: an Aurix™ 3015 runs roughly twenty-one to twenty-eight dollars per hour on a standard work month. Every input is editable, so use your own quote and your own hours.
If you outsource laser cutting today, the checks you already write to outside processors offset a machine payment dollar for dollar. Coverage is your monthly outsourcing spend divided by the machine payment: at 100%+, the machine is effectively paid for by work you're already buying: a reallocation, not a new cost.
No. It's directional math from your own inputs. Real pricing depends on power, bed format, and configuration, and is sized on an engineering call. In the US, Section 179 typically lets shops write off qualifying equipment in the year of delivery; confirm tax treatment with your accountant.
